Mid-summer of 2024, I embarked on a bucket list trip which combined my loves of photography and hiking. Admittedly the hiking was pretty low key since a helicopter would be dropping us off near the locations we would shoot from…hence the bucket list part of the trip. It was as epic as it sounds and I’m super grateful for the opportunity to have done something like this. As someone who likes to shoot landscapes, I tried doing something different, focusing on smaller scenes vs trying to capture the entirety of what my eyes saw. This approach allows the imagination to wander, giving the viewer the freedom to craft their own narrative. Capturing the world at my feet became as important as the one at eye level. And those lovely mountain layers…I could spend a lifetime trying to tell their story.
