Mid-summer 2024, I embarked on a bucket list trip that combined my love of photography and hiking. Admittedly, the hiking was pretty low-key since a helicopter would be dropping us off near the locations we would shoot from…hence the bucket list part of the trip. It was as epic as it sounds, and I’m super grateful for the opportunity to have done something like this. As someone who likes to shoot landscapes, I tried something different: focusing on miniature scenes instead of trying to capture the entirety of what my eyes saw. This approach allows the imagination to wander, allowing the viewer to craft their own narrative. Capturing the world at my feet became as important as the one at eye level. And those lovely mountain layers…I could spend a lifetime trying to tell their story.
